We spent the last six weeks traveling through Texas and finding out what a big place it really is. There is so much variety here, so much history, so much to see and do.
We had a fun and educational road trip through southern New Mexico including great food, UFOs, sledding on white sand, Billy the Kid, rockets, space travel, and more.
El Paso, a little detour to Texas during our journey through New Mexico. Tasty food and a lot of history in the boot capital of the world.
We found so much to do while visiting Tucson, Arizona. There are great places to hike, awesome museums, and all kinds of history from the Old West. We visited a huge airplane museum (one of the largest in the world), went inside a Cold War missile silo, hiked through a desert covered in Giant Saguaros, and drank Sarsaparilla in Tombstone.
Our visit to the Titan Missile Museum was an awesome experience. The kids even got to turn the keys to initiate the launch sequence of this Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. How cool is that?
We ended up staying in Yuma, Arizona for a week longer than planned…Here’s what we did in the sunniest city on earth.
We made a quick day trip to Algodones, the northernmost city in Mexico and a mecca for those seeking low-cost dental care, optometrists, and prescription drugs.
We spent a few days boondocking, or primitive dispersed camping, at the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. What a great time of year to visit the desert.
